Have another question? Contact us
What is Yotta and how does it protect me?

Yotta is an anti-fraud app and browser extension that analyzes links when you click them. If it detects risk signals, it displays a warning before you continue to the site and potentially share information, download malware, or make a payment.

Does Yotta scan my messages before I open a link?

No. Yotta does not read or scan your messages. Protection activates when you click and the link attempts to open. At that moment, we analyze the domain and warn you before entering the site if it appears dangerous.

Which channels does Yotta protect?

Yotta protects links you open from WhatsApp, SMS, email, social media, and other channels, as well as websites you visit directly in your browser.

Which devices support Yotta?

Yotta is available as an app for Android and iPhone and as an extension for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on computers. Specific availability may depend on your device and browser.

Does Yotta read my conversations or store my browsing history?

No. Yotta does not read the content of your SMS, WhatsApp messages, or emails, and it does not store your browsing history. It analyzes technical signals from the link and retains only the minimum records required to provide the service and verify a potential reimbursement request.

My Facebook account was already hacked. Can Yotta help?

Yotta cannot reverse a hack that occurred before protection was installed. However, using Yotta can reduce the risk of it happening again: if you click a malicious link designed to steal your credentials, we will warn you so you can stop before entering your information.

My card details were stolen at a physical store. Does Yotta cover the loss?

No. Yotta protects against fraud originating in the digital world through malicious links and websites. It does not cover data theft at a physical store or events that occurred before Yotta was activated. Reimbursement applies only to eligible digital losses when Yotta should have detected a malicious site but did not display a warning, subject to the plan’s terms and limits.

What should I do if I receive a warning?

The safest action is to stop and go back. If you choose to continue after accepting the warning, you do so at your own risk and the transaction will not be eligible for reimbursement.

What happens if Yotta does not detect a fraudulent link?

If Yotta was correctly installed and active, the malicious site should have been detected, and you did not receive a warning, you may request reimbursement for the covered loss according to your plan, its terms, verification requirements, and limits.

Does Yotta reimburse every type of fraud?

No. Protection applies to eligible losses occurring through a malicious site that Yotta should have detected. It does not cover, for example, transfers made by mistake, purchases from sellers who do not respond, or transactions completed after accepting a warning. The terms of the purchased plan always apply.

Does Yotta replace good security practices?

No. Yotta adds another layer of protection, but we recommend keeping your devices updated, using unique passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and never sharing passwords or security codes.
